So often we are told how lucky we are to live where we live or to be able to live the lifestyle we are living. Guess what? Luck has nothing to do with it!
That’s right, nowhere in what we’re doing has luck been a factor. Not once have we gotten “lucky”. What we have had is God’s provision and lots of hard work!
This led Kirk and me into a discussion today about how often we hear this. We got to thinking about it and realized that since no one else will tell you, we should. Here it goes: Don’t wait for luck, make it happen!
Whatever it is you’re dreaming of, you need to understand that no one is going to come by and make it happen for you, you’re going to have to make it happen for yourself. It’s fine if all you want to do is dream, but if you’re really looking for a change in your life, you’re the only one in control over the outcome.
We got where we are today because of hard work, and lots of it! We followed God’s plan for us, even when it meant losing friends and family members, being called crazy, reckless, and selfish. We didn’t know what the end result of God’s calling would be, but we knew we needed to follow where He was leading us.
Doing this has opened up doors for us that neither he nor I thought possible. We have learned so much about ourselves and our abilities and we’ve learned about each other as well. Neither of us would ever go back to what once was, and we both agree that this was the best decision we’ve ever made.
So, that big dream you have: quit dreaming about it and start praying instead. If it’s what God wants for your life, He’ll make it happen; in His time. If your dream isn’t what God wants, He’ll make known to you what is.
Ask Him today to reveal His plan for your life. Ask Him to open your heart and mind to be acceptable to His call and to be able to see the opportunities He puts in your path. Ask Him to guide you, then follow where he leads you, and you’ll never regret a moment of it!
Remember, when you ask God for something, He doesn’t always make it obvious when opportunities arise. Sometimes you’ll have to take a leap of faith, after much prayer of course, and dive right in. He will place opportunities in your path to test your readiness. If you’re truly ready, you’ll take them, if you aren’t you’ll have to wait for the next one while continuing to pray for His guidance.
So, what’s it going to be for you? I encourage you to share your dream with us below in the comments. Let’s encourage and pray for one another. Have you an experience of following His plan or taking a leap of faith? Share it below as well!
